BILLY THE KID

An Epix original, Michael Hirst created an epic romantic adventure based on the life of Billy the Kid, from his humble Irish roots and his early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier, to his pivotal role in the Lincoln County War and beyond. Starring Tom Blyth, Daniel Webber and Eileen O'Higgins and the pilot was directed by Otto Bathurst and shot in the plains of Alberta to retell the icon story of Billy the Kid.

Visual effects were used to create the New York city landscape of the 1800s using pratical sets and blue screen backdrops for set extensions film on telescoping technochranes. Post production was led by Take 5 Productions, responsible for Handmaid’s Tale, The Tudors and Vikings amongst others. Post Producer Nick Ianelli, VFX Producer Greg Behrens, VFX Supervisor Roberto Biagi enlisted META’s John Cameron as On Set VFX Supervisor for the 8 part series streaming on Epix.
