APPLE TV - THE MORNING SHOW

Apple TV’s cornerstone series, The Morning Show, had principle photography take place primarily in Los Angeles within studio settings. However the intended location of the show on screen is within New York city and the surrounding area.

Over 3,000 visual effects shots were led by META’s John Cameron as Visual Effects Supervisor for the Apple TV + series transforming each location of The Morning Show’s studio, Jennifer Aniston’s apartment, Reese Witherspoon’s hotel and exterior settings to appear as New York settings. Using set extensions, character repositioning, sky replacements, scene stitching and fire effects amongst others. With teams in Montreal and Los Angeles, Vancouver and Toronto John oversaw Real by Fake’s team of talented artists through the series work.

Some of the most notable visual effect work occurs in episode seven recreating the California fires where original footage was taken in blue sky conditions and fog, haze, and fire were added in post. Working directly with Executive Producer and Director Mimi Leder, dailies, editorial, conform and visual effects were all part of the post production pipeline handled in delivery of the remarkable series.
